Breast enhancement
Breast enhancement is one of the most common surgical procedures within the field of plastic surgery. The aim is to provide the woman patient who has lacked breasts or whose breasts have been damaged following breastfeeding with an improved breast contour.
The surgery is performed under a general anaesthetic and patients are free to return home after a few hours or after an overnight stay depending on the surgical technique used.
There are several different materials and implant shapes in order to satisfy the individual needs and requirements and implants can be inserted using various types of skin incisions and be placed either under the breast tissue or alternatively under the breast muscle.
In addition to general complications following surgery, hard capsule tissue may in certain cases form around the implant itself resulting in some discomfort for the patient.
Rehabilitation periods vary depending on the type of work that the patient carries out. Physically challenging exercise should be avoided for the first few weeks.
