Forehead and eyebrow lifts

Deep lines and wrinkles on the forehead and droopy eyebrows are not usually affected by face lift procedures. A solemn or grim facial appearance which can affect even young patients can be rectified by a forehead surgical procedure. Forehead lifts aim to raise the eyebrows and reduce the deep wrinkles as well as stretching the skin area.

During this surgery which is usually performed under a general anaesthetic, an incision is made in the skin right at the hairline of the forehead extending down towards the temples. The skin is loosened by the eyebrows where the forehead muscles which create the deep furrows between the eyebrows are freed. The skin is tightened and excess skin is removed.

The patient is given a special bandage and can usually return home on the day of surgery. Mild pain is not unusual. Reduced sensitivity in the area adjacent to the incision often lasts for a period of a few months.
