Upper arm and thigh surgery

Excess skin and fatty deposits are common on the upper arms and thigh areas and these can remain as an ugly reminder to the patient following significant weight reduction.

These excess tissues are removed under general anaesthetic and often in combination with liposuction. The scar tissue stretches from the inside of the armpit and groin area respectively ending at the inside elbow area and inside of the lower thigh region.
General surgical complications are rare following these procedures.

Patients are usually off work for periods of two to three weeks depending on the occupation of the patient and they should refrain from strenuous exercise for an additional week.
